The University of Lincoln will welcome Visiting Professor, Chris Packham CBE, to the Brayford Pool Campus today from 10am for a special day of events covering all things wildlife, television, and media.
Chris will be joined by Professor Libby John, Head of College of Science at Lincoln, to host a day packed with face-to-face, hands-on, and virtual activities for everyone to enjoy. It will include a series of Summer Watch on-campus activities, a special Live Lounge session, and a media masterclass.
Chris Packham is one of the most recognisable British broadcasters, perhaps best known for hosting the BBC's Springwatch and Autumnwatch series. An enthusiastic advocate of wildlife conservation and environmental issues, he also dedicates his time to a variety of charities and good causes.
Activities will be live streamed on this page and across our social media channels throughout the day.
Tune in at 12:30pm today for a special Live Lounge featuring Visiting Professor, Chris Packham CBE. During this live and interactive talk, Chris will share insight and tips on what subjects to study at Lincoln to prepare for a career in nature or working with animals, and offer guidance on how to help protect our planet.
Visitors can book a place to meet Chris in person and get involved in our 'Summer Watch' activities, which will include setting camera traps for 'beasts from the Brayford', pond dipping, and hands-on lab work.
This exciting on-campus event is aimed at young people interested in the environment, natural sciences, biology, or animal sciences including wildlife.
Please note, places on this event are now fully booked but you'll still be able to join in the fun by tuning into the live stream that will be featured here on this page from 10:00am on Wednesday 4 August.
Chris will be our guest for a very special Live Lounge instalment co-hosted by Professor Libby John, Head of College of Science at the University of Lincoln and specialist in plant ecology.

The winners of the Chris Packham Photography Competition will be announced at the end of the talk.
