Information and advice for prospective students from China
As one of the UK’s leading modern universities, students from more than 100 countries apply to the University of Lincoln each year for degree level studies.
To help you prepare, the following information provides guidance on the entrance requirements you will need to meet, alongside further information in support of your application.
Prospective students from China are required to meet the following University of Lincoln entrance requirements:
Students who successfully complete Senior High 2 with an average of 66% in 4 or more subjects maybe eligible for entry onto a Lincoln International Study Centre Foundation Programme. Students who have completed High 3 with an average of 61% including key subjects may also be considered for a Foundation Programme.
Students who successfully complete Senior High 2 with an average of 70% or above or, successfully complete Senior High 3 with an average of 65% or above maybe eligible for entry onto a Lincoln International Study Centre International Year One course.

Students require one of the following qualifications for entry into year one of an undergraduate degree:
Prospective students may be accepted directly into year two or three of an undergraduate degree depending on the level and type of their previous course.
HND Students (BTEC and SQA)
Students who have successfully completed a HND BTEC or SQA qualification may be accepted directly into year two or three of a University of Lincoln undergraduate course on a case by case basis.
Chinese Degree / Diploma
Students who have successfully completed the second or third year of a Chinese Degree or Diploma may be considered for direct entry into year two or three of a University of Lincoln undergraduate course on a case by case basis. Prospective students require one of the following qualifications:
Successful completion of a Masters Degree from a recognised institution

Students require a minimum IELTS of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each band score) or equivalent. Please note that some courses require a higher score.
Students who do not meet the above English language requirements may be eligible for entry onto a Pre Sessional English and Academic Study Skills (PEASS) course.

Each year, we are delighted to award a number of scholarships to academically gifted students from across China. Depending on your academic ability and intended programme of study, there are a range of scholarships which may be available.
