Fusing academia and creativity with industry insights, the programme offers students the opportunity to develop their skills and build a portfolio with support from an academic coach and professionals in the publishing industry. Teaching on the course is enhanced by workshops, readings, and masterclasses by acclaimed authors from a range of genres, such as Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, naturalist Chris Packham, and art historian Andrew Graham Dixon.

The event includes complimentary drinks and canapés, inspirational mini-masterclasses from leading Guardian writers about how to turn creative ideas into stories that move audiences, and the chance to speak to the MA's class tutors Professor Jason Whittaker and Guardian’s Associate editor for Culture Claire Armitstead about the course and how to make a mark in the competitive world of publishing. You'll also be able to enjoy a mini-tour of the Guardian's archives and meet like-minded aspiring writers.
The event will start at 5.30pm and end at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome.
