The Sports Centre
The University of Lincoln Sports Centre boasts a range of excellent facilities and is open to accommodate the needs of both staff and students at the University.
Facilities available include:
- Fitness Suite (Gym)
- Double sports hall
- Two five-a-side football pitches
- One seven-a-side football pitch
- Four squash courts
- Synthetic pitches
- Dance studio
- Eight badminton/short tennis courts
- Two basketball courts
- Two volleyball courts
- Two netball courts
The centre hosts a wide selection of fitness classes that are suitable for all levels of fitness. Pre-book or arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Qualified fitness instructors are at hand to instruct relevant exercise programmes for all registered members of the fitness suite.
The centre also hosts a selection of recreational sports, which are open to all abilities; activities include football, basketball, netball and badminton and equipment is provided in all sessions. Sessions are led by qualified and friendly staff who are available to help all attendees in every session.
Students' Union Activities
As well as a place to study, University is also a place to live and socialise. We aim to make it as easy as possible for students to make new friends and play an active social role in University life.
From American Football to Wakeboarding, the aim of the Sports and Societies on offer through the Students' Union is to bring together those with common interests and facilitate them in pursuing a hobby or activity they are interested in.
With over 2,000 students actively involved with over 100 different Sports & Societies there is something for everyone.
School of Sports & Exercise Science
The School of Sport and Exercise Science is noted for its cutting-edge facilities and provides an exceptional educational experience within an enthusiastic and supportive environment.
Programmes are available across a range of sport-related subjects. Teaching is underpinned by scientific research and scholarship, making use of the excellent facilities which support laboratory projects and field investigations. Excellent links exist between the School and industry and professional practices, which offer varied opportunities for work experience within the community.
A sports scholarship for Undergraduate and Postgraduate students has been established to support up to ten athletes in their pursuit of excellence.
Up to £1,000* each is available to individuals with additional benefits including testing, strength and conditioning, nutritional advice, lifestyle management and gym membership.
