The BSc (Hons) Professional Practice programme, is a professionally orientated programme of study which has been developed as a 'top up' option following discussions with partners, identifying a need for courses which are responsive to both national and local policy and aim to meet the educational needs of the local health professional population.

This course is aimed at practising care nurses with 12-18 months clinical experience. It is delivered as two modules and the overall aim is to develop critical care skills and knowledge with an application to practice in order to deliver high quality, evidence-based critical care.

The aim of this unit is to introduce practitioners to the key skills and knowledge required to take a comprehensive history and physical examination.

The course aims to develop professionally qualified mental health practitioners' awareness and understanding of cognitive-behavioural framework and to enable them to be able to critically apply some core approaches within their clinical work with service users.

This programme is designed to enable practitioners to develop the skills, knowledge and attributes required for safe, appropriate and cost-effective prescribing practice within the context of their specialist professional roles and the legislative and professional frameworks that govern their specific prescribing role.

This course seeks to introduce students to a framework that can enhance existing attitude, knowledge and skills and be safely applied to everyday encounters with service users who have pervasive and persistent difficulties around managing their relationship with themselves and their social environment.

The programme will prepare healthcare professionals to be responsible for the learning, supervision and assessment of students in practice setting.
