Riseholme Equestrian Centre is set in the heart of the Lincolnshire countryside. Situated just of the A15 only a mile from the Lincolnshire Showground, Riseholme is easily accessible from any part of the country. The equine unit was opened in 2002, so our facilities are modern, clean and great for the welfare of the horses. Our facilities include:
We have a wide range of horses and ponies that will perform in a variety of disciplines at differing levels The equine unit also houses a fully interactive mechanical horse which is an important equitation teaching resource. Horse WalkerOur horse walker helps exercise the horses when the weather is bad, or turnout is limited. It ensures all the animals leave their stables as much as possible and are kept stimulated at all times. Equine TreadmillThe equine unit now boasts a state of the art equine treadmill, which was installed in 2008. This is a super research facility and allows horses to be tested in a controlled environment. The treadmill can go up on a slope and horses can be worked on there in walk, trot, canter and gallop. Research looks at heart rate, acclimatisation work, saliva samples and many more. Students take part, and work with horses on the treadmill, as well as using ongoing research to work towards projects and dissertation studies. Cross Country CourseBuilt by Jo Weller in 2008, Riseholme Equestrian Centre has a cross county course which includes steps and a jump ditch. The Centre is now approved to hold BHS Stage 3 exams and Pony Club B tests.
