Hope is a pure bred Cleveland bay mare bred by the University of Lincoln in 2002.  She is by Borderfame Prince Charming out of Bullwood Lady Dorothy.  Hope was broken to ride before she was put in foal.

Nettle is a pure bred Cleveland bay mare bred by Barbara Martindale in 2004.  The University of Lincoln first brought her in foal to Highpasture Fellowship in 2008 to expand its Cleveland bay gene pool, and also in the hope that she would produce a filly foal.

DOB: 29 April 2008

Sire:  Highpasture Fellowship, who is a young stallion bred by Nigel Cowgill.

Dam:  Stainmore Nettle (Nettle)

Thistle was Nettle's first foal, and is a pure bred Cleveland bay filly. She is now one of the University's brood mares.  She was shown as a yearling in the summer of 2009 and won the pure bred yearling class at the Royal Show.

Bright Poppy (Poppy)

Poppy is a 14 year old thoroughbred mare on loan to the University from Alison Healey, who bred her by the stallion Prolific.  Poppy has already had a foal with Alison but has now come to the University where she was covered by Prince to foal in 2010.

Petal is a really smart little filly with plenty of presence and good movement. 

 

Lindon May Week (Max)

Born: 23rd May 2010

Sire:  Groomsbridge May I

Dam: Lindon Minerva (Hope)

Max is a really smart colt with stunning movement out of Lindon Minerva by the thoroughbred stallion Groomsbridge May I, who has already produced a number of successful offspring in the show ring, so we hope that Max will follow in their footsteps.

Dam:  April Frolic (Polly)

Maisie is a part bred Cleveland bay filly, and is Jake's full sister.  She is showing super movement already and should grow up to be a stunning adult horse.

Bracken is a pure bred Cleveland Bay colt, who was sold to Ralph Walker in 2011.

 

 

 

Lindon Joint Honours (Honey)

Born: 28th April 2006

Sire: Lindon Principal

Dam: Night Glass (Bee). Bee is a pure thoroughbred mare who was owned by the University. 

Honey is a stunning example of a part-bred Cleveland bay.  She took part-bred champion in hand at Moorgreen show as a yearling and continued her success as a two year old.  Honey was part-bred Cleveland Bay Champion in hand at Equifest 2010, and 3rd in the part-bred ridden on her first outing under saddle.

Honey was sold to Jazzmyne Barbour in 2011.

 

 

Lindon Fides (Faith)

Born: 18th June 2007

Sire:  Lindon Scholar

Dam: Lindon Minerva (Hope)

Faith is a pure bred Cleveland bay filly, and is the first foal the University produced out of two home bred parents.  Faith has also been shown as a youngster and will hopefully become a successful riding horse.

Lindon Double First (Jake)

Born:  25th May 2008

Sire:  Lindon Principal (Prince)

Dam:  April Frolic (Polly)

Jake is a part bred Cleveland bay gelding, and is Maisie's full brother.  He was Polly’s first foal and Prince’s first colt, hence the name Double First!  Jake was shown as a yearling in 2009. 

Jake was sold to Laura Shakeshaft and left us at the end of May 2010 to go to his new home.

Lindon Half Blue (Monty)

Born in 2004, Monty is a part-bred gelding bred by the University.  He is out of the mare Night Glass (Bee) by a pure bred Cleveland bay stallion that used to stand at the University called Runswick Special Edition.  Monty was broken to ride and was sold in June 2009 to Francesca Hammond.  We wish Fran good luck with Monty and hope she has a lot of fun with him.

Lindon Academic (Spider)

Born in 2005, Spider is a pure bred colt bred by the university.  He is out of Jenna by Runswick Special Edition.  Spider suffered a bad injury to his hind fetlock as a 2 year old and had to be on box rest for 4 months, but he made a full recovery and was sold in the summer of 2007 to a family in Louth.  Spider has now been castrated.

Toby

Born on 10th June 2009, Toby was a pure bred Cleveland Bay colt.  He was out of Hope by a super stallion called Penrhyn Dictator, who is owned by Jo Firth.  Toby was sadly put to sleep in the autumn of 2009 following many surgical complications, and we thank RASE vets for all their hard work with him.

 

 

April Frolic (Polly)

Polly is a 15 year old throughbred mare who was on loan to the University from Alison Healey.  Alison bred Polly, who is by the well known thoroughbred stallion Profilic.  She has been ridden in the past and as a young horse was very successful in the showring.  Polly came to the University in 2007 to be put in foal to Lindon Principal.  In 2009, she had a beautiful colt foal called Lindon Double First (Jake) and her second foal also to Prince, a stunning filly called Lindon Two Two (Maisie).  After being weaned, she went home to Alison to continue as a broodmare.
