Tech guru Jason Bradbury to open Alumni Weekend
Jason Bradbury will open the Lincoln Alumni Weekend TV technology guru Jason Bradbury will welcome former students of the University of Lincoln, UK, to a special reunion weekend in June.

The Gadget Show host will kick off the Alumni Weekend at 2.30pm on Friday 13th June with a talk about his life and career in the fast-changing world of technology.

The free event will continue until midday on Sunday 15th June. Visitors will have the chance to meet the robots which are the stars of the University’s cutting-edge computer science research, try out the latest in virtual reality software and explore the campus with guided tours.

Also planned is a firework display, afternoon tea with Vice Chancellor Professor Mary Stuart, and visitors can attend bite-sized lectures from the University’s academics. Sport’s fans will be able to watch the World Cup matches live at the Engine Shed venue and there will be a host of bands and performers on the Saturday.

Elly Sample, Director of Communications, Development and Marketing, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to welcome back graduates and their families to the full Alumni Weekend in June.

“This will be a weekend of nostalgia and fun activities. It is a chance to meet and interact with old friends and lecturers, as well as rediscovering the beautiful city of Lincoln. The University continues to develop and grow year on year, so there will be a lot of new things for our alumni to discover.

“We already have hundreds of past students booked to attend, but there is still time to reserve your spot.”  
The weekend will link in with the 2014 Lincoln Festival on the Brayford Waterfront on Saturday 14th June. Special discounts and offers to use around the city and on campus will be available.

As well as graduates of the University of Lincoln, the weekend is also open to alumni of Lincoln’s predecessor institutions including the University of Humberside, the Lincoln School of Art and the Humberside College of Higher Education.

Samantha Eld, from Leicester, graduated from a BA (Hons) Marketing and Media Production degree in 2005. She said: “I loved my time at Lincoln. When I went to university, I did a lot of growing up; I got a great life education as well as a degree.

“I think it will be great to come along to the Alumni Weekend and see how it has changed.”
