YouTube star TomSka returns to Lincoln
YouTube star TomSka returns to Lincoln YouTube sensation Thomas 'TomSka' Ridgewell will be returning to the University of Lincoln - two years after his 'banned' adverts for the university went viral.

The film-maker, who has been cited as one of the leading lights of a new wave of online media stars, will deliver a talk to visitors at the University's undergraduate open day on Wednesday 11th December 2013, and speak at a free public event later the same day.

Tom graduated from the Lincoln School of Media in 2011 and has grown a global following on his YouTube channel with his irreverent sketches, cartoons and short films.

He featured on the cover of Wired Magazine in February 2013 as part of a feature titled "How YouTube Reinvented the Entertainment Business" and was selected by YouTube as a guest host for its Geek Week series in August.

Elly Sample, Director of Communications, Development and Marketing at the University of Lincoln, said: "We are delighted to welcome Tom back to Lincoln. He is one of a talented bunch of Media Production graduates who are changing the rules of the game for the traditional TV and film industry, attracting huge online followings via YouTube.

"It is incredible to think that Tom's videos have now amassed almost half a billion views. We know from all the comments we've received from viewers around the world that he has certainly helped to put Lincoln on the map."
