DragonForce to get Engine Shed firing
DragonForce Power metal heroes DragonForce will blast onto the stage at the Engine Shed later this year.

The British-based six-piece will perform at the venue on the University of Lincoln’s Brayford campus on Thursday 10 December 2009.

Last year the band was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance for the single Heroes of Our Time, taken from their latest album Ultra Beatdown.

The band also claimed the distinction of becoming the most successful new British metal act in America for two decades after the trans-Atlantic success of their 2006 album Inhuman Rampage.

The first song from that album, Through the Fire and Flames, will be recognised by video game fans as a track from the game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.

Victoria Simpson, Events and Marketing Manager at the Engine Shed, said: “This gig will be something special for Lincoln’s metal fans. As Guitar Hero enthusiasts will testify, if you like big riffs and extravagant guitar solos, you’ll love DragonForce. They’re developing a massive fanbase not just here in Britain, but also in the USA and Japan, so it’s great to have them play at the Engine Shed.”

DragonForce will perform at the Engine Shed on Thursday 10 December with doors at 7pm. The event is strictly for people aged 16 and over.

Tickets cost £16 in advance and go on sale on Wednesday 17 June at 9am.

They are available from www.engineshed.co.uk, 0844 888 8766, HMV Lincoln and the Engine Shed Box Office, which is open Monday to Friday from 10am-4pm.
