Engine Shed gets Dizzee again
The Engine Shed Rapper Dizzee Rascal will have Lincoln’s hip hop fans in a spin again this year as he makes a welcome return to the Engine Shed.

The chart-topping star, whose latest single Bonkers looks set to be part of the soundtrack to this summer, will perform at the venue on the University of Lincoln’s Brayford campus on Monday 2 November 2009.

Dizzee Rascal’s last appearance at the Engine Shed was in November last year, when he played live to a large, passionate audience.

The Engine Shed can also confirm another big name live act will be performing in the city this winter.

Much-loved Irish folk rock band the Saw Doctors will bring their blend of country, pop and rock music to Lincoln on Tuesday 1 December 2009.

The band, fronted by song-writing duo Leo Moran (guitar) and Davy Carton (vocals) have established a huge international fan base over 20 years.

Victoria Simpson, Events and Marketing Manager at the Engine Shed, said: “Everything Dizzee Rascal touches at the moment seems to end up at the top of the charts, and this summer is only going to cement his place at the top table of British music. His gig last year showed there is a big hip hop following in the region and we’re expecting his upcoming performance to be just as popular. We’ll also be bringing one of the most electrifying and entertaining live acts of the last 20 years to Lincoln. The Saw Doctors have a huge global following and many fans will travel across continents just to see them play. Their performance at the Engine Shed is something not to be missed.”

Tickets for Dizzee Rascal’s performance at the Engine Shed go on sale on Thursday 21 May, priced at £17.50 in advance. Tickets for the Saw Doctors go on sale on Tuesday 19 May, priced £20 in advance.

Tickets are available from www.engineshed.co.uk, 0844 888 8766, HMV Lincoln, or the Engine Shed Box Office, which is open Monday to Friday from 10am-4pm. Both events are for people aged 16 and over.
