Paolo Nutini to play at Engine Shed

Soulful young singer-songwriter Paolo Nutini will perform at the University of Lincoln’s Engine Shed.

The Scottish-born musician will play a concert at the venue on Brayford Wharf East on Saturday 2 May.

Paolo Nutini shot to stardom while still a teenager with the release of his debut album, These Streets. The record sold more than one million copies in the UK and the same again around the world.

The album featured the hit single Last Request, which became one of the anthems of 2006 and reached number five in the UK singles chart. He also became a favourite on the festival circuit and performed to millions during Live Earth at Wembley Stadium in July 2007. His song New Shoes even became the soundtrack to an advert for a globally-recognised brand of trainers,

Paolo, who is still only 21, will release his second album, Sunny Side Up, later this year.

Victoria Simpson, Events and Marketing Manager at the Engine Shed, said: “This is another big name for the Engine Shed. Paolo Nutini’s live performances have won him millions of fans around the world. The Engine Shed is a very intimate venue and his gig here should be something special. With his new album out later this year, there should be a good mix of old favourites to sing along to and new tracks to enjoy for the first time.”

Paolo Nutini will perform at the Engine Shed, on the University of Lincoln’s Brayford campus, on Saturday 2 May. Doors open at 6.30pm and the event has an early curfew of 10pm. The concert is for people aged 16 and over and ID will be required on entry.

Tickets go on sale on Friday 27 March at 9am. Tickets cost £17.50 and are available from www.engineshed.co.uk, 0844 888 8766, HMV Lincoln and the Engine Shed Box Office, which is open from 10am – 4pm Monday to Saturday.
