The Fratellis to get Engine Shed rocking

Scottish rockers The Fratellis will be bringing their sing-along anthems to the University of Lincoln’s Engine Shed.

The Glasgwegian outfit – whose single Chelsea Dagger became an instant indie classic – have added a date in Lincoln to their Autumn Tour 2008.

They will perform at the Engine Shed, on the University’s Brayford Pool campus, on Thursday 27 November.

The Fratellis won Best British Breakthrough Act at the 2007 Brit Awards and their first album, Costello Music, reached Number Two in the UK album charts.

They were labelled ‘the best new band in Britain’ by the NME and have been compared to everybody from The Beatles to Led Zeppelin.

Victoria Simpson, Events and Marketing Manager at the Engine Shed, said: “The Fratellis are yet another confirmation in a long line of chart-topping artists scheduled to play the venue.  It’s the kind of music you can’t help but dance and sing along to and The Engine Shed is the perfect venue to provide an awesome atmosphere and a rocking night. This is yet another top class gig for the music lovers of Lincoln to sink their teeth into.”

Tickets are now on sale now and cost £20 in advance. They are available from HMV Lincoln, www.engineshed.co.uk, 08714 244555, or the Engine Shed Box Office Monday to Saturday between 10am to 4pm. The event is for people aged 16 and over.
