Engine Shed gets Dizzee

British rapper Dizzee Rascal is the latest high-profile artist to be lined up to perform at the University of Lincoln’s Engine Shed.

The hip hop star - who topped the UK singles charts this summer with his collaboration with Calvin Harris, Dance Wiv Me - will appear at the venue on the Brayford Pool campus on 20 November.

Meanwhile, indie legends the Bluetones have confirmed they will perform at the Engine Shed on 9 December.

Tickets for both concerts go on sale on Friday 5 September at 10am.

Victoria Simpson, events and marketing manager at the Engine Shed, said Dizzee Rascal’s gig confirmation showed the venue was keen to able to cater for a wide mix of musical tastes.

She said: “We’ve established with the Charlatans, James and the Beautiful South playing at the Engine Shed that we have a strong indie crowd here in Lincoln but we also know people want to see all sorts of different genres of live music.”

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 5 September. Both events are for over-16s. Tickets are available from www.engineshed.ticketline.co.uk, HMV Lincoln or 0871 4244555. Prices are £15 advance for Dizzee Rascal and £14 for the Bluetones. Booking fees may apply.
