Graduate becomes Norwich City club journalist

Norwich City FC fan Kim Betts graduates from the University of Lincoln this September and already has the job of her dreams.

Kim Betts

The 21-year old BA (Hons) Journalism student, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, has been employed as Championship football club Norwich City’s club journalist.

Kim feels this would not have been possible without the support and guidance from her tutors at the University of Lincoln. She said: “The staff were the best part of the BA (Hons) Journalism course. Sport journalism lecturer John Cafferkey was really helpful in getting me where I am today.”

Kim clearly loves her new job. She said: “The day to day is a mixture of liaising with local and national press, interviewing players and key staff members such as the manager and board members including Delia Smith.”

She continued: “I write content for the club website and also have presenting duties on CanariesWorld TV. There's lots of travelling involved and I get to meet some amazingly passionate people. I love it.”

Speaking about the course at Lincoln, Kim said: “The course teaches you all sorts of things, like the technicalities of the media, legalities and it also helps build confidence in all areas.”
