BBC One’s Countryfile films at University

BBC One’s Countryfile programme filmed at the University of Lincoln’s Holbeach campus this week.

Presenter John Craven and the team filmed the University’s sensory suite, test kitchen and processing line as part of a feature about the international year of the potato.

Director of Countryfile, Dean Jones, said: “Lincolnshire is widely known for its potatoes so it seemed very apt to do the feature here. It is great that we could also utilise the University of Lincoln’s high-tech facilities and gain the opinions of their highly trained staff.

“Lecturers Linda Mcwatt and David Stainton made the whole morning work really well, I cannot thank them enough for their considerable contribution.”

David Stainton said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our facilities and expertise. I am looking forward to watching the programme.”

The programme will be broadcast on BBC One at 12pm on Sunday 20 April.
