Musical weekend in Lincoln

 

The University of Lincolnís Lincoln Academy has organised a weekend of world-class musical performances to take place in Lincoln this coming weekend.

 

Duo Montagnard will play the saxophone and guitar at the Universityís Engine Shed on Saturday 24 November at 6pm.

 

Award winning young artist, Colin Currie will perform as part of the International Concert Series at the Lincoln Drill Hall on Sunday 25 November at 3.30pm.

 

Duo Montagnard was formed in 2002 by Dr Joseph Murphy and Matthew Slotkin. Dr Murphy is a Professor in Saxophone at Mansfield University, Pennsylvania and Matthew Slotkin is an acclaimed performer, teacher and scholar and one of the most prominent young guitarists in the US.

 

Duo Montagnard has performed at over 80 concerts throughout the world and is visiting the University of Lincoln as part of its UK tour.

 

Colin Currie has appeared as a soloist around the world with many orchestras and at many festivals, including the BBC Proms and Carnegie Hall in New York.

 

Tickets for the Duo Montagnard concert are available on the night at the Engine Shed and cost £2 - £4.

 

Tickets to see Colin Currie are available from the Lincoln Drill Hall Box Office or by calling 01522 873894. The pre-concert talk will start at 3.30pm; followed by the concert from 4.15pm to 6pm. Tickets cost £4.50 - £10.
