University opens doors to potential students

Around 2,000 visitors are expected to attend an open day at the University of Lincoln’s Brayford Pool campus later this month.

Potential students and their families and friends will be travelling from all over the country to attend the open day on Saturday 27th October. They will be able to discover more about the courses they are interested in and many other important aspects of university life.

The University will be showcasing the wide range of subjects available. Advertising, Architecture, Biomedical Science, Games Computing, History, Media Production, Psychology and Sports Exercise Science are just some of the subject areas covered on the day.

Halls of residence and the Engine Shed will be included in the campus tours scheduled throughout the day. Visitors wishing to view Riseholme Park and the Cathedral campus will be able to do so by taking one of the organised coach tours.

The day will include a series of presentations covering all aspects of student life and subject talks with the opportunity for visitors to speak personally to academic tutors.

Current students will also be there on the day to talk to visitors about life at the University as well as providing additional information for parents. Student finance information will also be available.

Visitors will also be encouraged to take a walk around Lincoln city centre and find out more about the ancient city.

Andy Kirk, UK Recruitment Officer, said: “We are really looking forward to the open day and meeting all prospective students. Visitors will be able to find out all they need to know about the University of Lincoln and student life.”

The doors open at 9.30pm until 4.00pm, visitors can arrive at any time throughout the day and everyone is welcome to attend. For further information contact Andy Kirk on (01522) 886631, email enquiries@lincoln.ac.uk or visit the University website at www.lincoln.ac.uk/opendays
