UNIQUE JOURNEY TO FIND UNIQUE DESIGNS

University of Lincoln Product Design students will be showcasing their work in a unique and creative way that has never been done before.

The students work will be displayed on billboards around the city of Lincoln and a special bus ride will take spectators to view the boards on Friday 8th June.

The theme of the end of year show is ‘Gallery on the Street’ with the work set out in a gallery style with the individual pieces set in ornate frames. There are two billboard displays on Newark Road, one on Broadgate and one on Silver Street showcasing the students work.

Dave Bramston, Senior Lecturer in Product Design, said: “The show aims to involve everyone and exclude nobody. During our research we often need to ask the general public their opinion on things and it seemed a good idea to put the show out in the public domain. This gives individuals the opportunity to see some of the ideas and work.”

The work displayed on the billboards includes a selection of radiator designs produced for the Ideal Stelrad Group, a table/unit that was exhibited at the Milan Furniture Fair earlier this year and design work for a toy brief students were given as part of a national competition.

Special guests will be invited to attend the private viewing starting at 6.30pm with awards presented to students for achievements over the last year. This will be followed by a tour of the city by bus to view the billboards.

The billboards will be up until the 17th June for the public to enjoy. For more information about the end of year show or Product Design contact Dave Bramston on 01522 835077 or email dbramston@lincoln.ac.uk
