The University of Lincoln is holding a special turf cutting event to celebrate the start of the second construction phase of a £3.5 million extension of the university’s Holbeach Technology Park.


The extension at Holbeach will benefit the regions food and drink manufacturing sector. VIP guests will attend the turf cutting event on Wednesday 2nd May at 3.00pm.


Holbeach campus is the specialist food technology and food manufacturing centre for the university.


Guests will include Cllr Eddie Poll (Executive Councillor for Lincolnshire County Council, Economic Development), Kevin Witheford (Ishida Europe) and Valerie Dwyer from the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA). The guests will be joined by the university’s Vice Chancellor Professor David Chiddick.


The £3.5 million project is being led by Lincolnshire County Council and supported by EMDA and European funding. The project represents a partnership between local and regional agencies, the University of Lincoln and employers and equipment suppliers in the food sector.
