The University of Lincoln is hosting an evening to promote the value of sports volunteering in Lincolnshire.


The Sports Volunteer Evening, arranged by the Lincolnshire Voluntary Sports Forum, will take place at the university’s Riseholme campus on Wednesday 4th April 2007 (tomorrow).


The evening will include motivational guest speakers talking and providing information about a number of sports related issues, such as how sport is tackling crime and disorder in local communities.


The Lincolnshire Sports Volunteer Awards 2007 will also take place where volunteers will be awarded for their dedication and hard work. Talks from guest speakers will include information on achieving club accreditation, building a facility, being a multi-skilled coach and sporting success stories.


The importance of local schools and sports clubs forming links to improve, widen and strengthen access to opportunities will also be addressed during the evening.
