NEW APPOINTMENT TO RAISE UNIVERSITY’S PROFILE
The University of Lincoln has appointed a new Director of Corporate Affairs to raise the profile and build the reputation of the institution.
Gillian Squires has moved to Lincoln from Kingston University in London, where she was Director of Marketing and Communications for seven years.
The post of Director of Corporate Affairs at the University of Lincoln is a new senior position which has responsibility for marketing, recruitment, PR, internal communications and corporate affairs.
“Lincoln is a fast-growing university which continues to increase in importance,” said Gillian.
“My job is to help raise the profile and build the reputation of the university regionally, nationally and internationally.”
Gillian gained first-class honours in Industrial Knitwear Design at Trent Polytechnic but has spent most of her career in marketing in the not-for-profit sector.
She worked as marketing manager for the Fawsett Society, a campaigning organisation working for financial equality for women, and before that she worked as marketing officer for the Save the Children Fund.
She also spent a year working for UKCOSA (the Council for International Education) and before this spent six years working for the British Council in Ecuador.
She is now looking forward to helping the University of Lincoln consolidate and build on its reputation as a progressive and dynamic institution.
“I’m delighted to join the university at this time as there is a real sense of the institution moving forward,” she said.
