Becoming an entrepreneur is not an easy challenge to set yourself, but the launch of a new book will help anyone develop the skills and mind set needed to turn dreams into reality.

University of Lincoln professor David Rae is the author of the book entitled ‘Entrepreneurship: from opportunity to action’ which is based on his award-winning research and teaching with entrepreneurs.

The book aims to help people learn how to develop their entrepreneurial skills through creating and working on opportunities.

The book explores human creativity and recognises entrepreneurship as a skill-set which can be learned. It is all about creating, recognising and exploiting opportunities.

Professor Rae said: “The book features a new approach called opportunity centred entrepreneurship. This enables people to learn entrepreneurial skills and develop their ability to create new opportunities and transform them into action. It features practical tools and inspirational stories for readers to learn from successful entrepreneurs.”

David Rae is Professor of Business and Enterprise at the University of Lincoln, where he is Director of the Enterprise Research Development Unit. He has combined 25 years experience of starting, running and advising businesses with experience in universities and government agencies.

The book is published by Palgrave MacMillan and available to order from www.palgrave.com/business/Rae
