18th October 2006

Babyshambles have become the latest big name band to confirm a gig at the University of Lincoln’s Engine Shed venue.

The band, led by former Libertines frontman and tabloids’ favourite Peter Doherty, are set to play the Engine Shed as part of ten date UK tour on Friday 8th December.

Babyshambles began life as a side project for Peter Doherty, while he was sidelined from the Libertines in order to address his drug problems.

With the culmination of the Libertines, Babysmables became Doherty’s main outlet and the band released the top ten single Kilamangiro in November 2004.

A year later the band released their debut album Down In Albion, with the single F**k Forever having already reached number 4 in the UK charts earlier that summer.

The Babyshambles gig will be part of a impromptu Libertines theme week at the Engine Shed, with Doherty’s former Libertines partner Carl Barat appearing at the venue just four days later with his band Dirty Pretty Things.

Supporting Babyshambles in Lincoln will be upcoming London band The Holloways, already a favourite of the media, who’s debut album So, This is Great Britain? is released at the end of this month.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday 20th October. Doors will open at 7pm on the night and the gig is for over 18s only.
