HULL STUDENTS ASKED TO ROLL UP FOR RAG WEEK

Students at the University of Lincoln in Hull are hoping to turn their rags into riches during a week of events starting on Monday 13th February with a cross-campus pub crawl.

The event will be tied in with the National Union of Students’ Sexual Health Awareness Week (13th - 17th February).

Throughout RAG (Raise and Give) week there will be a general knowledge quiz and a raffle with loads of prizes to be won. Raffle tickets will cost £1 and the winners will be announced on Monday 20th February.

On Thursday 16th February the university’s Students’ Union is holding a netball match, the boys from the football team against a team of girls cheerleaders are welcome! All entrants and spectators will be asked for a donation.

Kim Minshall, Vice President, Education and Welfare (Hull) University of Lincoln Students' Union Co-Operative, says: “RAG week will be unusual, slightly crazy but above all fun!

“We want as many students as possible to get involved. It’s a way for them to give something back to their community while making new friends and experiencing new activities.”

The local and national charities which have been nominated to receive the money raised are:

CASE Training                                                    RNIB

Childline                                                              Pooh Bear Reading Society

Dove House Hospice                                         Meningitis Trust

Every Man                                                           Hull Rape Crisis

KIDS Yorkshire & Humberside                           Shelter

At the end of the week students will vote online for the charity they would like to benefit.
