Students at the University of Lincoln will get an insight into work placements when the Human Resources Manager of Cargill plc attends a workshop on campus next week.

Tutors in the Faculty of Business and Law have organised the event for all Human Resource Management students, including those currently on work placement themselves.

Honor Grantham of Cargill plc will be the guest speaker at the workshop, which will take place on Friday 20th January.

“Our students are meeting Honor Grantham to find out more about what local employers are looking for when recruiting potential placement students and to share best practice on the subject of placements with their fellow students,” said Tracy Lamping, who is organising the workshop.

“Students from all four years of the course are participating in the event, which aims to prepare students for their placement year and for the world of work upon completion of their degree.

“Links with major local employers such as Cargill are a key factor in helping academic staff to prepare students for the world of work.

“Local organisations also benefit from graduates who are available for employment and who are equipped with highly developed relevant employability skills.”

The workshop will take place in the Cargill lecture theatre in the main academic building at the Brayford Pool campus. It is anticipated that Honor Grantham will attend from 11.30am.
