University of Lincoln students who are due to graduate this month can keep in touch with their classmates thanks to the launch of the university’s Alumni Association.

The university has launched a new web site for former students and has written to 47,000 alumni in the UK and overseas to encourage them to sign up.

Graduates logging on to www.lincolnalumni.org can catch up with their old friends, find out what’s  going on at the university and see what other Lincoln graduates are up to.

They can also register, add their own profile to the university’s database and make contact with old friends.

The site offers University of Lincoln alumni the chance to benefit from an expanding international business and professional network of like-minded graduates in a wide variety of disciplines.

Former students can also get careers advice, find out about events at the university and sign up for magazines and newsletters from the Alumni Office.

“Our alumni are our number one ambassadors for the university and we are eager to stay in touch with them,” said Julie Corden, Alumni Officer at the university.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for our former students to keep in contact with their friends and with us, and these days an online community is clearly the best way to do that.”

University of Lincoln alumni include those who studied at all the university’s predecessor institutions including Hull College of Higher Education, Humberside College of Higher Education, Humberside Polytechnic, Humberside University, the University of Lincolnshire & Humberside, the Lincolnshire School of Agriculture and the Lincoln School of Art and Design.
