SECOND CHANCE AT UNIVERSITY OPEN DAY

If you’re considering studying at university this September then it’s not too late to apply.

The University of Lincoln is holding two Clearing open days in August for students who are late making their decisions or who have not received their expected exam results.

On Saturday 20th August and Wednesday 24th August the university will open its doors at the Brayford Pool campus between 10am and 3pm to those who would like to find out more about the courses on offer.

Anyone interested in courses at other campuses in and around Lincoln can also come to the Brayford Pool campus, where transport will be provided to take visitors to other sites.

Law, Equine Science, Graphic Design, Journalism, History and Herbal Medicine are just some of the programmes on offer at the university.

Throughout the day staff will be available from each department to discuss the options still available and how to apply for those places.

Information will also be available on the various student support facilities such as funding, careers, disabilities and accommodation. Visitors will also receive campus tours, including accommodation.

“It is important that would-be students realise that there is still time for them to apply for the last few places available,” said Karen Raynes, student recruitment manager.  “The offer of a place is, of course, subject to qualifications and experience, but there is a possibility that some students may be able to sign up for a place on the day.”

Around 100 academics and admissions workers will be staffing the University of Lincoln’s Clearing call centre for a week, to take calls from students, answer their questions and offer students places on courses starting in September 2005.

From Thursday 18th August, when A-level results are released, students can call the university’s Clearing hotline on 01522 886622.
