POSTGRADUATE STUDY FOR FOOD INDUSTRY MANAGERS

Food industry managers can now study for a postgraduate certificate in Management Studies at the Holbeach campus of the University of Lincoln.

Manager interested in signing up for the course will be able to find out more at a special open evening at the Holbeach campus on Thursday 14th July.

The new course offers aspiring managers in the food and related industries the opportunity of top-class postgraduate management study on a part-time basis.

Teaching will take place at the £2.8 million Holbeach Technology Park where the university’s Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) is based.

“Modern food processing is a highly technical sector of manufacturing,” says Val Braybrooks, Business Development Manager at the Holbeach campus.

“There is an increasing need for a route for graduates to develop their management skills on a course which allows them to continue with their demanding jobs.

“The postgraduate certificate in Management Studies for the food and related industries has been designed for that purpose. It addresses the need for managers to possess a combination of personal qualities, such as leadership, vision and focus, combined with the latest business and management knowledge.”

The course will be delivered one afternoon and evening per week over one year, although attendance is not necessary every week as the programme has been developed to facilitate short breaks to support independent study.

Normal entry requirements are an honours degree or HND at distinction level, although candidates who hold recognised professional qualifications and/or appropriate work experience may be considered.

The open evening takes place from 6pm until 8pm on 14th July 2005 at the Holbeach campus, Minerva House, Park Road, Holbeach. The cost of the course is £1,500.
