Art in the open air will be one of the Bank Holiday attractions on offer at the University of Lincoln this weekend.

Lizzie Jones and Melanie Gazda, both students at the Lincoln School of Art and Design, are to stage an exhibition of artwork entitled ‘Garden Delights’.

And the added attraction is that their colourful abstract paintings can be viewed in the open air at the Riseholme Plant Centre off the A15 north of Lincoln.

Lizzie Jones (30) is from Scampton and studies Fine Art at the university. Her paintings are ‘colourful reflections of beauty depicting the deepness of the universal environment within vibrant rhythmic paintings’.

Melanie Gazda (30), who lives in Alford, studies Fine Art and Contemporary Lens Media at the university.

Her garden designs explore the interaction between colour and shape, ‘uplifting the aura with an energising glow to transform the garden into a musical bed of dreams’.

‘Garden Delights’ will be open to the public from Saturday 28th to Monday 30th May between 10am and 4pm daily.
