The Hull School of Media Technologies has received a donation of media equipment totalling around £1,000 from a local filmmaker.

The school, part of the University of Lincoln in Hull, received a selection of media and television items, including a ladder dolly and a HCS-PRO stabiliser amongst others.

The equipment was donated by local Hull film-maker Lynne Taylor, who was assisted in the creation of one of her films by staff and students at the Hull School of Media Technologies.

"We are always pleased to help members of the local cultural community whenever we can,” said Stephen Shipley, Head of the Hull School of Media Technologies.

“Fortunately, what Lynne needed in the way of professional expertise and access to equipment matched what we had available,” added Mr Shipley.

“We were able to set up projects which gave her what she needed and gave our staff an opportunity to refresh their professional skills. Lynne's generous donation is more than welcome."

Editing of Lynne’s film was carried out by Michele Taylor, a first-class degree graduate from the Hull School of Media Technologies.

“When Lynne told us she was looking for someone to edit the film we were delighted to be able to recommend Michele - we knew what a professional job she would make of it,” he added.
