Lincoln’s Mayor-elect, Councillor Eddie Strengiel, will be among the VIPs attending the Lincolnshire School of Agriculture’s prize-giving ceremony at the Lincolnshire Showground next month.


Over 100 students from the University of Lincoln’s Riseholme Park campus will receive plaques, trophies or certificates for their studies in wide range of land-based subjects including Woodland and Countryside Management, Animal Care, Garden Design and Agriculture.


Presenting the awards on Friday 2nd July will be Philip Wynn, Managing Director of Aubourn Ltd, a Lincolnshire firm which has extensive experience nationwide of all aspects of arable and livestock production and diversification.


Also in attendance will be the Chairman of Lincolnshire County Council, Councillor Charles Ireland, the Chairman of South Kesteven District Council, Councillor Graham  Wheat, the Chairman of South Holland District Council, Councillor Alan Biggadike, the Chairman of East Lindsey District Council, Councillor Brian Burnett, and Chairman of North Kesteven District Council, Councillor Fred Ambridge.


“The prize-giving ceremony is a wonderful way for the students, parents and invited guests to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students at the Lincolnshire School of Agriculture,” said a university spokesperson.


“We are delighted to once again have such a prestigious audience for the occasion.”


The ceremony will take place at 2pm in the Exhibition Hall at the Lincolnshire Showground.
