STUDENT GETS THE LYNX EFFECT

A lucky break into the world of television advertising has had the ‘Lynx effect’ on the lifestyle of a Hull student.

Ashley Jamieson (19), a Media Technology student at the University of Lincoln, is the star of the new advert for Lynx Recover shower gel.

The advert, which shows Ashley struggling to get out of bed because of a hangover, ends with him being washed by two beautiful women.

And if that weren’t enough, he also enjoyed an all expenses paid trip to Cape Town to film the commercial.

Ashley, who is currently in his first year of his degree, is no stranger to the small screen.  He has also worked for Fanta, Calvin Klein and Currys as well as appearing as an extra on the ITV1 drama ‘Night and Day’.

“I really wanted to be an actor but then I realised how hard it is.  I have been lucky with the work that I have got so far but it isn’t always that easy,” said Ashley.

“I decided that I liked the production side and would ultimately love to work behind the scenes.

“The course at the university is fantastic because it covers all areas from film and television to radio.

“I hope that my contacts through my advertising and extra work along with my academic skills will result in getting a job when I finish university.”
