KEEP-FIT FANS GET NEW EQUIPMENT

University staff and students will find it even easier to keep in shape now that the campus fitness centre has had an overhaul worth £130,000.

Staff at the £10 million sports centre took delivery this week of an extended range of fitness equipment including eight tread mills six new exercise bikes.

“All the new hardware is a new make of Oxide equipment which is thought to be the best on the market,” said sports centre manager Helen Evans.

“It’s certainly the most modern as far as training techniques are concerned.”

Around 3,000 University of Lincoln students regularly use the fitness centre at Brayford Pool and increasing numbers of staff are also joining up.

“We’re trying to recruit more members of staff and we’re planning to rebrand the facility and relaunch it to university colleagues,” said Helen.
