POLITICAL COMMERCIALS IN THE USA
A professor from the United States of America will be visiting the University of Lincoln next week to give a lecture on political commercials.
Dr Martin Grindeland is a Professor of Mass Communications in the College of Business and Industry at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
He will give a critical analysis of political television commercials in the USA in his lecture on Monday 15th March.
His visit is part of the exchange programme between the Faculty of Media and Humanities at the University of Lincoln and the Department of Mass Communications at Minnesota State University Moorhead.
The programme has been running for three years and two students from Minnesota are currently studying at the University of Lincoln. Last semester two third-year Media Production students from the University of Lincoln went over to the American university.
Dr Grindeland gained a masters degree from the University of North Dakota and a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before he became a professor at Moorhead he taught at Illinois State University and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
He has also served as a television production officer in the United States Air Force.
The lecture will take place on Monday 15th March at 6pm in the Co-op Lecture Theatre, Brayford Pool campus.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
