5th March 2004
The latest in the series of international classical concerts sponsored by the University of Lincoln will be given at The Lawn on Sunday (7th March).
Pianist Martin Roscoe will be joined at the concert by Marianne Thorsen (violin), Graham Oppenheimer (viola) and Nicholas Jones (cello).
The unusual but highly rewarding Piano Quartet Movement by Mahler will be complemented by Coplandís Piano Quarter (1950) and Brahmsí Piano Quartet in G minor op 25.
The Brahms quartet is judged to be perhaps the greatest and most searching of all works for this combination.
All concerts in the series start at 3.45pm at The Lawn after a pre-concert talk at 3pm.
Tickets priced £9 (£8 concessions, £4 students and under-16s) are available from Counterpoint on Grantham Street, Lincoln.† Telephone 01522 560065 or email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.counterpointmusic.co.uk.
Further concerts in the International Concert Series will be staged at The Lawn on Sunday 4th April and Sunday 9th May 2004.
