PHOTOGRAPHY SUCCESS FOR STUDENTS

Two students from the University of Lincoln have snapped up a local photography bursary.

Lisa Coulson (22) and Elizabeth White (22) have both been awarded the annual bursary from North Kesteven District Council’s arts unit ArtsNK.

Lisa and Elizabeth will be working with a team of professional dancers to create a photographic and video exhibition which will incorporate performance, imagery and sound.

The exhibition and performance will take place at The Hub in Sleaford in May.

Both students are in their final year of the Fine Art, Photography and Video Production degree course at the University of Lincoln.

“It is a wonderful achievement to be able to stage an exhibition at such a prestigious gallery and this will hopefully lead to other exhibitions in the future,” said Elizabeth.

“We are both in our final year so this is a fantastic opportunity for us to be able to show what we can do.

“Everyone at the university has been extremely supportive.  We have received extra access to equipment for the exhibition and our lecturers have supported us throughout.”

The bursary is offered to full-time photography students in the area and aims to encourage students in their chosen profession.

The performance and exhibition will take place on Saturday 8th May 2004 at the Hub in Sleaford.

ArtsNK provides arts development programmes for the North Kesteven district through a team of art-form specialists.
