JOURNALISM AND THE HUTTON REPORT

 

A leading newspaper editor will give a lecture next week on dilemmas facing journalists in the wake of the Hutton Report.

 

Bob Satchwell, Executive Director of the Society of Editors, is the latest speaker in the ‘Journalists Speak Out on Journalism’ series organised by the University of Lincoln.

 

An award winning investigative journalist, Mr Satchwell will discuss privacy, Hutton and the dilemmas of journalists.

 

He was Assistant Editor of the News of the World and Editor of the Cambridge Evening News. Between 1997 and 1998 he was President of the Guild of Editors and was the first Executive Director of the guild – which became the Society of Editors in April 1999.

 

The lecture will take place on Tuesday 10th February at 6pm in the Cargill Lecture Theatre, Brayford Pool campus.

 

Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
