CONCERT SERIES CONTINUES WITH MUSICAL DUO

The University of Lincoln’s International Concert Series continues in the New Year with a performance by two internationally acclaimed musicians.

The performance by Imogen Cooper and Sonia Wieder-Atherton will take place on Sunday 11th January.

Each renowned in their own right as a soloist, the two have been playing together since 1997.

Imogen Cooper is one of the world’s most respected pianists.  In addition to her recital schedule she plays regularly with the world’s leading orchestras and conductors.

French-American cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton is considered one of Europe’s finest and most original musicians.

The French Academy of Fine Arts awarded her the Del Duca Grand Prize in 1999.

They have recorded works by Rachmaninov, Franck and Fauré on the RCA Red Seal label which achieved great critical acclaim.

The performance promises to be a brilliant showcase for both instruments.

All concerts in the series start at 3.45pm at The Lawn after a pre-concert talk at 3pm.

Tickets priced £9 (£8 concessions, £4 students and under-16s) are available from Counterpoint on Grantham Street, Lincoln.  Telephone 01522 560065 or email eileen@counterpointmusic.co.uk or visit www.counterpointmusic.co.uk.
