It’s an Ideal World for one University of Lincoln graduate who has landed every woman’s dream job – shopping!
Sheetal Patel, who recently gained her degree in Computing and Media Technologies at the university’s Hull campus, has secured the position of assistant producer with the Ideal World TV company.
Sheetal (22), from Wyndham Park in Peterborough, has been working with the home shopping channel since graduating at the end of July.
“My job is to assist the producer on the three or four live shows we do per shift,” said Sheetal.
“I check the products, make sure the graphics are correct, meet and greet the guests and liaise with the presenter.”
Sheetal works for presenter and executive producer Steve Whatley, who has been working in the television industry for over 20 years.
“I really enjoy live TV and meeting people who have had experience in the industry,” she says. “They all have stories to tell.”
Ideal World TV is based on Newark Road in Peterborough and was launched in April 2000 and produces live home shopping shows which are screened on Sky Digital and NTL Digital 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
