A new business school in the heart of Lincoln is to be officially launched next month.
The Lincoln Business School will be based on the Brayford Pool campus of the University of Lincoln.
Guest of honour at the launch event on Tuesday 21st October will be Ruth Lea, Head of the Policy Unit at the Institute of Directors and a former Economics Editor at ITN.
The event will coincide with the annual lecture of the Lincolnshire branch of the Institute of Directors, which will be given by Ruth Lea at 6.30pm at the university.
After the lecture the evening will continue with live music, wine, refreshments and a networking opportunity for guests.
“We are in the process of establishing the Lincoln Business School and developing our current portfolio of undergraduate, full and part-time postgraduate and professional programmes,” said Karen Raynes, marketing officer for the Lincoln Business School.
“This is a very exciting time for everyone at the university and we’re delighted to be working with Ruth Lea and the Institute of Directors to stage this special event.”
The university’s business school was formerly located in Hull and has been offering both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for over 20 years.
The new Lincoln Business School employs 60 full-time academic staff and offers programmes in Business, Management, Accountancy, Human Resource Management, Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising.
Ruth Lea was previously the Chief UK Economist at the London offices of Lehman Brothers and Mitsubishi Bank. She frequently appears as an economic commentator on news and current affairs programmes including Newsnight, News at Ten, The Nine o'Clock News, Channel 4 News, Business Breakfast, On The Record and the Today programme on BBC Radio 4.
