8th August 2003
Think you’ve left it too late to apply for a place at university this year? Well, think again - there’s still time to snap up the last few vacancies.
The University of Lincoln will be having two clearing open days next week and the week after for the benefit of those still hoping to gain a place.
On Saturday 16th and Wednesday 20th August the university will open its doors at the Brayford Pool campus between 10.00am and 3.00pm to those who would like to find out more about the programmes on offer.
Anyone interested in programmes taught at other campuses in and around Lincoln should come to the Brayford Pool campus. Transport will be provided to take visitors to the other campuses.
Architecture, Complementary Medicine, History, Applied Animal Behaviour, International Business and Heritage Investigation are just some of the programmes on offer at the university.
Throughout the day staff will be available from each department to discuss the options still available and how to apply for those places.
Experienced staff will provide information on the various student support facilities such as funding, careers, disabilities and accommodation. Visitors will also receive campus tours, including accommodation.
“It is important that would-be students realise that there is still time for them to apply for the last few places available,” said Jacqueline Mayer, education liaison manager.
“The offer of a place is, of course, subject to qualifications and experience, but there is a possibility that some students may be able to sign up for a place on the day.”
The clearing system is specifically for students who are late making their decisions or who have not received their expected exam results.
