The University of Lincoln has announced that it will continue to sponsor the international classical concert series at The Lawn next year.
The last concert in this year’s series will take place on Sunday (11th May) and will provide an opportunity to hear and compare two great works by Brahms performed by a string sextet.
The programme features Brahms String Sextets no 1 in B flat, op 18 and no 2 in G major, op 36 and will be performed by Mi-Kyung Lee (violin), Ulf Wallin (violin), Lars Anders Tomter (viola), Graham Oppenheimer (viola), Antonio Lysy (cello) and Christoph Richter (cello).
The concert series began in October last year and is the result of a new collaboration between artistic director Graham Oppenheimer and the University of Lincoln.
This weekend’s performance will begin at The Lawn at 3.30pm after a pre-concert talk at 2.45pm. Tickets cost £8 (£7 concessions), £3 for students and under-16s.
Tickets will be available on the door (subject to availability).
Dates for next season’s series have been provisionally set as follows: 12th October 2003, 30th November 2003, 11th January 2004, 7th March 2004, 4th April 2004 and 9th May 2004.
