Students at the Lincoln Business School will be given an object lesson in advertising and marketing next week.
On Monday (7th April) John Alligan, director and partner of The Media Shop,
will deliver a lecture to Marketing and Advertising students on media planning and buying.
John started his career in sales with Yorkshire TV and then joined Masius Wynne Williams where he became a director on the board responsible for media. His clients included Mars, GSK, Weetabix and McDonald’s.
His next job was at Park Advertising, where he worked on accounts including Airbus, AT&T, Vauxhall and The Economist.
He is currently a director and partner of The Media Shop, an independent company which provides advertising, marketing and media planning and buying advice to clients including New York Bagel, Cobra Beer, Henkel (No More Nails, Solvite, Unibond), Nissan car dealerships, Florette Salads and the University of Lincoln.
The lecture will take place at 3pm in lecture room 1001B in the Learning Resource Centre at the Brayford Pool campus of the University of Lincoln. All are welcome.
The following day (Tuesday 8th April) Sue Dwyer, planning and research manager for McDonald’s, will speak to students and staff about marketing research.
This lecture is restricted to students and staff only and will take place at 4pm in the Co-op Lecture Theatre in the main academic building at Brayford Pool.
