Lincoln Media Production student Darius Laws is to see his spoof documentary ‘Exposed: Reach for the Stars’ screened at the Nottingham Broadway cinema.
The film documents the rise and fall of a manufactured pop group and was shown on BBC2 last November as part of the BBC’s showcase for young film makers, ‘BBC Blast’.
Darius (20) and his fellow film-makers entered the film into the Nottingham Broadway’s In the Frame young film-maker’s competition and are delighted that their film has been selected to be shown on the big screen.
“I’m pleasantly surprised by all the plaudits we’ve had for ‘Exposed’,” says Darius, who wrote and directed the short film.
“It was made over a really short period of time and after all the recent stuff we’ve been making it seems such a long time ago.”
The screening and awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday March 26th and Darius and his team look forward to hearing the results.
The film was made with fellow Media Production students Ruth Akins (21), Robin Hennessy (21) and Lucy Craymer (21) and was part of their second-year assessment at the University of Lincoln’s Brayford Pool campus.
