INTERNATIONAL GOTHIC ART AT THE USHER

The Usher Gallery will today present the eighth lecture in the history of art series currently being given by the University of Lincoln.

Today’s lecture and discussion focuses on International Gothic art and include a display of artefacts representing the styles from this period.

The lecture will be given by Dr John Lord, principal lecturer in Art History at the university’s Lincoln School of Art and Design.

The ‘Visual Arts: Antiquity to circa 1600’ series of lectures will continue until December and will cover the many and varied styles of art throughout the ages.

“The Usher Gallery and City and County Museum have kindly provided real artefacts from the periods discussed which really adds potency to the lectures,” said Ian Waites, programmes leader for the History of Art and Design course.

The lecture series is open to the public and free of charge.  The presentation take place each Thursday at the Usher Gallery on Lindum Road, between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.
