FRESHERS TO START UNIVERSITY LIFE IN STYLE

 

A record intake of first-year students is due to arrive at the University of Lincoln this weekend.

 

And the Students’ Union Co-operative has organised a spectacular week of events to help the new semester start with a bang.

 

From karaoke and party games to live music, comedy and a fancy dress pub crawl, Freshers’ Week is a surefire way to make new students feel at home and at ease.

 

Around 2,000 freshers are expected to enrol at the university next Monday (16th September) for courses at Brayford Pool, Riseholme Park and the Cathedral Campus.

 

The annual Freshers’ Fair will take place on Tuesday 17th September in the university sports hall, where students can find out about the various clubs and societies which exist at the university.

Sunday 15th

Freshers’ Alfresco – seven hours of partying at the Delph Bar on campus

Monday 16th

Open-top bus pub crawl - school uniform optional

Tuesday 17th

Freshers’ Fair

‘Ave a Laugh! Comedy Club at the Delph Bar courtesy of You’re ‘Avin a Giraffe

Wednesday 18th

Party Liaison in the Delph Bar – seven hours of karaoke, games and giveaways - free entry in pyjamas

Thursday 19th

Hip-hop with DJ Matrix in the Delph Bar

Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd

Wicked Weekend featuring Whigfield, The Bluetones, Bocca, Matthew Jay, Scott Mills and Adele from Big Brother 3 plus special guest

 

“Every year Freshers’ Week in Lincoln gets bigger and better, which is a reflection on how hard our Students’ union Co-operative works to make sure the new first-years have a really good time,” said university spokesman Jez Ashberry.
