The health and safety manager at the University of Lincoln is celebrating two prestigious appointments in quick succession.
Last month Rob Wood was elected chairman of the Institute for Safety in Technology and Research, a relatively small national body made up of safety officers from universities and research institutions across the UK.
And this week he heard he’s been elected to the Council for the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, an international body based in the UK boasting 25,000 members working in the safety sector in the UK and overseas.
“These are prestigious positions which reflect well on the work which is done here at the university,” said Rob, who is based at Riseholme Park.
“The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health is the recognised body for safety professionals in the UK and does a lot of work for the government and other national organisations.”
Rob has worked at the University of Lincoln for 22 years and was appointed health and safety manager in 1989.
He will serve as the chairman of the Institute for Safety in Technology and Research for three years.
