A learning adviser at the University of Lincoln has won a £250 scholarship to attend a six-day library conference in Glasgow.

Lesley Thompson, learning adviser for Marketing, Public Relations and Advertising at the university’s Brayford Pool campus, has been awarded the scholarship by the East Midlands branch of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.

She is to attend the 68th general conference of the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) in Glasgow from 18th until 24th August.

“The IFLA represents 150 countries and is expecting to host 3,000 delegates in Glasgow,” said Lesley.

“I’m particularly looking forward to it as this year is the first time the conference has come to the UK since 1987.”

The theme of this year’s conference is ‘Libraries for Life: democracy, diversity, delivery’.
