3rd July 2002

The region’s first ever festival of student art and design work will shortly be on display at the University of Lincoln’s Hull School of Art and Design on Anlaby Road in Hull.

Entitled ‘Unleashed’, the display is a collection of work by students from colleges and sixth form schools within the Lincolnshire and Yorkshire Art and Design Forum.

The exhibition will fill two floors of the Anlaby Road building and will present over 300 exhibits demonstrating the great variety of student talent in the region.  Work will include paintings, craftwork, designs, textiles, pottery and ceramics.

The forum, which consists of eight colleges throughout the area, has now been running for approximately four years and representatives meet regularly to discuss various art and design issues.

Part of the exhibition area will be dedicated to postcards designed by the students as part of a competition.  Each student has been asked to produce a postcard depicting a subject of their choice and three winners will be selected and receive prizes when the competition entries are judged tomorrow (4th July).

The exhibition will be officially opened on Monday evening 8th July at 6pm and will run daily, except Sunday, during office hours until Thursday 18th July.

Information for art and design and other course areas at the University of Lincoln will be available for the duration of the exhibition.
